Mark Vance
Years at Etowah: Coach Vance has spent 8 years in the Cherokee County school system and is about to begin his first year teaching at Etowah High School.
Education: Coach Vance received his Bachelors in Science Education from Mississippi College and then went on to get his Master's in Science Education from NOVA. He recently completed his Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University.
Playing Experience: Coach Vance played high school baseball in Mississippi where he was an all-region and all-state players in grades 10th, 11th, and 12th. In 2002, he was recognized as player of the year for North Mississippi and was named MVP for the All-Star game. He went on to play collegiately at Mississippi Delta Community College, Mississippi College, and Mississippi Valley State University.
Coaching Experience: Coach Vance began his coaching career coaching softball and baseball at Cherokee High School where the softball team was region champs 3 out of the 4 years he was there and well as finished 2nd and 3rd in the state on two occasions. He then transfered to River Ridge High School where he coached for four years, before transfering to Etowah High School where he will be taking over as the hitting coach for the Lady Eagles.
Family: Coach Vance and his wife Danae have two wonderful sons, Brody who is 5 and Wynn who is two years old. Danae also teaches and coaches at Etowah High School.
